Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.

The Serious Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Investigation

The charges come after what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

List of Charges

The charging documents outline the 45 charges he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Police are urging individuals with information to get in touch with the relevant police force.
