Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, however will the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, readers and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

My son told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
