The Perfect Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Super Form According to the Astrological Sign
This comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement within the community. From the one-by-one reveal of newcomers ahead of the title's launch, to trainers developing firm opinions on the entire lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for fans to look forward to.
With many of the Super Forms boasting unique appearances that emphasize their personalities, one thought naturally: How can link this with astrology? This list is inspired by a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was almost chosen for this fire sign, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, known for being fun, light-hearted, and spontaneous. This makes Aries far more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Remain on the friendly side of either and benefit from a powerful partner; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.
Taurus – Mega Heracross
Much like a devoted Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its regular and Super Form, has assisted many players in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, each the Pokémon and a Taurus are still battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their side unwaveringly. The thing about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, however, is its unabashed passion for snacks. Several previous Pokédex entries mention their craving for sweet tree sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it all, which is true Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Observe this total royalty. You cannot convince me this creature is not the life of any gathering, offering an endless stream of chatter to anyone who wish to hear. Just like an enrapturing, sociable Twins, it's incredibly easy to imagine Super Medicham captivating an whole Wild Zone with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also mentions its capacity to predict an enemy’s future actions, which seems very similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.
The Crab – Mega Manectric
The Crab is commonly considered as the most emotional sign of the astrological wheel, a intense symbol famous for frequently getting wrapped up in their feelings. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution charges the creature with a “huge amount of electricity, but it's too much for this Pokémon to completely manage,” which seems a lot like a typical Crab crash-out. It is also known for its ability to create a thundercloud over its very self – and if there’s one thing a Crab is going to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
Leo – Super Starmie
Oh, did you think I was going to pick Pyroar for the lion of the zodiac? Aside from the fact that it would be far too on the nose, The Lion is obviously Super Starmie, the diva whose legs just went viral for being extremely fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Players were captivated from the violet starfish, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Lion offers to the scene. This Pokémon is also rumored to be transmitting radio waves from its center out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a show, even if for extraterrestrials.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally represented in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual digestive issues. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly critical is strongly mirrored across this creature's entire evolutionary chain, from a always shocked face like a Maiden when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down face that’s just like the emoji a Maiden posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of making a plan.
Libra – Mega Audino
Look at this sweet, empathetic creature, who employs the sensors on its auditory organs to detect how others are emotionally by their heartbeat. Consistently compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to keep the peace, there are many Libras who would likely benefit from Super Audino's skills. However, let’s be honest, it would likely just cause them to worry even more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Super Banette
This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a surprisingly tragic origin: Discarded as a toy, it became consciousness through sheer resentment and vowed revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That seems precisely like several conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpion adores karma and retribution, making them the perfect match with Super Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Each Mega Hawlucha and Archers are constantly putting on a performance. Being a Sagittarius myself, the amount of occasions I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful small jester” is countless. The showiest and most obnoxious Super Form, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “poses to display its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Archer counterpart I can think of.
The Goat – Mega Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the power to predict calamities in advance? That gives the identical vibe as a Goat, who often consistently think they’re correct. Interestingly, much like a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute initial Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to join the ground floor of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Detached air sign Aquarius is arguably the non-flame sign that is most like a fire sign – its counterpart is Leo, and there are countless memes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being unpredictable partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s dual Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Super Form's overall daunting aura is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already convinced, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “absorbs hatred and transforms it into strength.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
