The President Welcomes Families of Injured National Guard Soldiers to the White House
Former President Trump stated on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the executive mansion.
He noted that he contacted her family and they were âdeeply grievingâ.

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

The president said heâs discussed a White House visit for the loved ones of both soldiers of the state National Guard.
âI said: âWhen youâre ready, because thatâs a tough thing, visit the White House. Weâre going to honor her,â Trump addressed reporters. âAnd similarly with him, recover or not.â

Mourners came together over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.
Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trumpâs national effort to aid public safety in Washington DC.

âShe was the kind of student that teachers hoped for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that inspired people around her,â Jarrod Hankins, the head of Beckstromâs previous school, told the press. âShe was caring, caring and always eager to help others.â
Memorial details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and charges of violent assault while armed.
The incident prompted the government to pause asylum applications and halt granting entry permits to possessors of travel documents.
Status of the Airman
The airman, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, according to the AP.

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in June 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a law enforcement officer with distinction, per the military.
âShe had a lot of compassion and she certainly had fortitude,â he informed the crowd at the memorial. âThough her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark thatâs going to be remembered always.â
