Former President Trump stated on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the executive mansion.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

The president said he’s discussed a White House visit for the loved ones of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump addressed reporters. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”

Mourners came together over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s national effort to aid public safety in Washington DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“She was the kind of student that teachers hoped for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that inspired people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s previous school, told the press. “She was caring, caring and always eager to help others.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and charges of violent assault while armed.

The incident prompted the government to pause asylum applications and halt granting entry permits to possessors of travel documents.

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in June 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a law enforcement officer with distinction, per the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had fortitude,” he informed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
