The Renowned Musician Urges Support to Get Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign seeks to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded in the wake of a major charity concert held in September. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of artists contributing to Lullaby features a group of acclaimed names from the scene. All took part in the September show, which managed to collect a considerable total for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a team of producers and composers. The single blends a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the project have stated that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These donations will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a representative said. “We will pursue as much as possible. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the territory was noted for its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a couple of million won't make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is first of all making this cause better known and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The track is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a digital service from later in the month.
