Tottenham Considering Selling Winger Welsh International Johnson.

Brennan Johnson in action
Brennan Johnson has earned 42 times with the Welsh national team since making his debut two years ago.

Spurs' European final hero Brennan Johnson is facing an unclear situation at the club due to increasing top-flight interest in his services.

It is understood that the club, while not actively seeking to sell the Welsh international, are receptive to letting Johnson leave if they get a substantial bid.

Crystal Palace are reportedly the club most advanced in their interest for Johnson, but several clubs are believed to be keeping tabs on his status closely.

A Season of Mixed Fortunes

Johnson was Spurs' top Premier League goalscorer the previous campaign with eleven strikes, and wrote his name in Spurs folklore by netting the winner in their European final victory against United in Bilbao, bringing to a close the club's 17-year wait for a major honor.

However, the departure of the previous manager and arrival of Thomas Frank has meant Johnson playing more of a bit-part role in the current campaign.

The 24-year-old, has made only six Premier League starts this term.

January Market Speculation Mounts

As a result, a host of clubs have been made aware of his likely exit ahead of the January transfer window.

Given his limited game time and the prospect of a World Cup on the horizon with Wales, a switch from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium may suit Johnson in January.

The attacker moved to Tottenham from Forest in a deal valued at £47.5m in the summer of 2023 and has registered 27 goals for the club.

Key Points

  • Brennan Johnson's future at Tottenham is currently in doubt.
  • The club is not actively marketing him but would consider offers.
  • Selhurst Park officials are at the front of the queue, with further Premier League clubs monitoring.
  • A change of manager has reduced his first-team opportunities significantly.
  • The upcoming transfer window and international commitments could influence a potential move.
